Make an IRA Charitable Rollover Gift

If you are over the age of 70.5 years and have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you are required to take an additional distribution (withdrawal) from your account, referred to as the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). You can use your RMD to make a charitable rollover gift to St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter, The Micah Center and Wellspring. Distributions made directly to a 501(c)(3) public charity are not reported as taxable income and qualify as an RMD, which can lower your adjusted gross income and income taxes.

Give a Legacy Gift

You may want to consider establishing a permanent endowment fund to provide lasting support to St. John’s. Endowment gifts work the same for St. John’s as retirement funds work for individuals. They are resources set aside for the future. We also hope you will think of us with a contribution through your will or living trust to create a lasting legacy. Your generosity will help us continue our mission of providing care for the poor and vulnerable in our community for generations to come.

Give through your Financial Services Organization

Catholic Order of Foresters

The Fraternal Legacy Rider (FLR) isn’t a product; it is a rider available on certain COF policies. With the FLR, your life insurance death benefits can be used to support the Catholic community. You can make an impact on your local church, diocese or other approved Catholic organization by gifting them with up to $250,000. When you purchase a qualifying COF life insurance policy with a death benefit of $50,000 or more, you have the opportunity to add this unique rider to your policy. It provides an additional 5% death benefit at no additional cost to you or your family! This extraordinary benefit is payable to the approved charities of your choice like St. John’s Homeless Shelter. Learn more.
